Creating beautiful and fun patterns for beautiful and unique homes

I am a freelance surface pattern designer, based in Peterborough Ontario, originally from Germany. As long as I can remember I have played with threads, fabrics and patterns.

I started out with apprenticeships in hand and machine embroidery for the fashion industry in Germany. Then I studied textile design in Glasgow with emphasis on cloth construction like weaving and knitting. I worked as an in-house designer in the home furnishing industry in Scotland for several years and then life took me to Ontario.

While still always doing something with textiles, my career took a turn and I spent many years drawing rivers, lakes and forests from aerial and satellite photographs to create data that was used for mapmaking. Even during that occupation I found many inspiring patterns in the natural world and I opened a Spoonflower shop to showcase my map inspired patterns.

It is now time for me to go back to my textile roots and to launch my business in surface pattern design. If you feel my style of work is what you are looking for and would work well with your brand or project you have in mind, please feel free to get in touch, I would love to hear from you .
